The 519 is proud to launch the Why We Vote campaign, a bold non-partisan initiative designed to highlight the most important issues facing 2 Spirit, queer, and trans communities and to encourage our communities and allies to vote to make a difference on the issues that matter.

Through this campaign, The 519 is calling on political candidates to commit to concrete actions that address critical challenges facing  2SLGBTQ+ communities, from housing and healthcare to human rights, safety, and wellness.

The Why We Vote campaign outlines urgent priorities for 2SLGBTQ+ communities, highlighting systemic issues and barriers and actionable solutions that the next federal government can implement. The campaign also includes targeted questions for candidates, challenging candidates to outline their party’s commitments to the most pressing issues facing our communities.
